Caddo Bossier Office of Homeland Security Offering Free Disaster Preparedness Training
Do you know what to do if a tornado is approaching your home? Are you interested in learning how local emergency response agencies work together in local disasters? The Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management will be offering a free twenty hour Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training course at the Bossier Emergency Operations Center starting January 5, 2010 and running for three additional Tuesday nights from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and all training material
including a light rescue bag is offered free of charge. The training
will take place at the Bossier Emergency Operations Center located at 1511 Doctors Drive in Bossier City.
According to LTC Gene Barattini (Ret), the training includes first
aid, light rescue; proper use of a residential fire extinguisher and
other individual & family emergency preparedness skills all taught
by senior Bossier City Fire Department or other first responder agency
academy instructors.
CERT graduates also receive a training certificate from
Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management
reflecting completion of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and
FEMA sponsored 20 hour CERT training course. For more information call
