Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security Director Receives Prestigious Recognition from U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Federal Emergency Management Agency(7/2/2009)
On Tuesday June 30, 2009,Caddo Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness Director, Sandy Davis, was presented a U.S. Department of Homeland Security prestigious recognition award for his outstanding dedication to emergency management. Mr. Gary Jones, Acting Administrator for Federal Emergency Management Agency Region 6, presented Sandy Davis the award during a hurricane shelter operations planning update meeting that was attended by local officials and several senior State of Louisiana emergency support function directors. Mr.Jones, along with Mark Cooper, Director of the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security, and Kristy Nichols, Secretary of Louisiana Department of Social Services, commended both Mr. Davis and the entire Caddo-Bossier and northwest region for their team effort to help fellow Louisiana residents in times of natural disasters.The award presented reads:
“With our deep appreciation for your outstanding dedication to public service and our vital contribution of shelter operations in support of the citizens of the State of Louisiana, as well as the greater Region 6 community, before, during and after disaster strikes. Your unwavering willingness to extend a hand in partnership has been invaluable to FEMA Region 6 through the years and serves as a model to be emulated.”
FEMA Region 6,based in Denton, Texas is FEMA’s counterpart office that Louisiana and four other states partner with duringdisasters for various phases of emergency response and recovery.
