The National Weather Service in Shreveport and the Caddo-Bossier Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness is pleased to announce the first Severe Weather and Preparedness Fair at the Bossier Civic Center in Bossier City, Louisiana February 11th. This is a unique opportunity for people to learn more about hazardous weather, how they can prepare, and the importance of taking action when threatening weather approaches.
There will be demonstrations, workshops, and seminars on Storm Spotting training, and Family Safety preparation. Hear from experts about past weather disasters and what has been learned. The Home Depot and Sciport Discovery Center staffs will be on hand for activities and fun for the kids. This is a community-wide event designed for all ages.
There will be door prizes throughout the day. Admission is free and the event times are 9:30 am to 3:30 pm.
