ESG Training Offers New Health Care Training Program (5/17/2005)
ESG Training (ESG) has rolled out a new Training Porgram for Health Care Providers based on "OSHA Best Practices for Hospital-Based First Receivers of Victims from Mass Casualty Incidents Involving the Release of Hazardous Substances." This is a new program that takes into account the differences between on-site first responders versus "first receivers" of chemically contaminated victims located at the Hospital.

As part of this new training, ESG provides practical information to help hospitals address employee protection and training as part of emergency planning for mass casualry incidents involving hazardous substances. By tailoring emergency plans to reflect the reasonably predicted "worse-case" scenario under which first recievers might work, the hospital can rely on these plans to guide decision regarding personnel training and Personal Protective Equipment.

ESG has already conducted several days of this new training for one Texas Hospital, with the focus on Emergency Room Staff. Unlike the old training that Hospitals have received, this training is customized to include the equipment that has been purchased by the Hospitals to respond to mass casualty incidents. The trainng consists of a three-day course that covers a variety of topics during the first two days while the third day focuses on hands-on activities and exercises.

Gary Mars, Co-CEO of ESG stated "We have made this new program available and affordable for any Health Care Facility. Our goal is to provide a quality service that will help our Hospitals and the comminty better prepare for a mass casualty event."

ESG is also offering consulting services to help organizations get the right equipment that will be needed during a Mass Casualty incident.
